Do Asscher cut diamonds look good at .5 carat size?

I want to be unique and get something other than a princess or round cut…Our budget only allows for about a half a carat, which is fine because I have a tiny finger… but does the Asscher cut look okay at that size?

I think it would look great in a simple solitaire setting. One thing to keep in mind with fancy shaped diamonds is that they will face up smaller then a round brilliant of the same carat size. Here is an example of a 5 stone wedding band used with 0.50 Asscher Diamonds.

Since the Asscher cut is almost the same as an Emerald cut, you can expect inclusions to be more visible. At .50 carats though I don't think it would be noticeable to the naked eye. I would suggest a Radiant cut instead. It features a 70 facet cut that maximizes brilliance and fire.

It will be fine if that is the cut that makes you happy. They say Asscher is not as Brilliant as Round, etc. but if Round is not what you want then do not worry about it.

Try the trillionth cut, very pretty but way less. I have one and it was over a grand for 1/2 k you can do better I guess but the trillionth cut is a round inside a square I think very blingy shaped like a triangle

YES!!! That is way too expensive! I would look around and see if you can find anything else. Just think of how much you could do with 16k..that could pay for a lot of your wedding!!
